Love and Hate

Why is there love
when we must fight for our own,
we must be first
and we must crush
and we must hate
and win
why then must we love
when we can hate
when our own
hate
and must win
We can't be loved
and why should we
when we are not even their own
when we can love anyone
as all others are,
and when we can win
by hating
and crushing
and will merely remain equal in love.
Do we need another?
